This lovely boy arrived to us last week for rehabilitation livery after breaking seven ribs back in May 💔🩻.

He’s now starting his recovery journey on our water treadmill, rebuilding strength, balance, and confidence step by step.

The water treadmill provides the perfect environment to aid Ginger’s ongoing strengthening 💪🏼

Introductory session Monday ‼️

An introductory session is all about giving your horse the confidence and understanding of the treadmill without asking too much. ✅

We always start with a quick chat with you, as an owner, to find out all relevant information and medical history of your horse. We work to understand your aims and goals for the treadmill sessions to make sure we are on the same page 📖. While this is happening, our lovely assistants will be picking our feet, tying your horse’s tail and giving them a good fuss 🥰.

We then take the time introduce your horse to the surroundings of the centre and treadmill, allowing them to absorb the environment and load at their own pace. We walk each horse through the belt with open doors atleast a couple of times, before sealing the front and back doors. We wait for each horse to find its balance and then commence with starting the belt 🏃

Firstly, we add a little amount of water- this gets your horse used to the sounds of the pump 🫧, and the sensation of the water beneath their feet 🦶. Water height from here can vary depending on response, but we always cool off on a dry belt before ending the session!

At the end of the introductory session, we will discuss how you feel the session went and suggest a plan going forwards. 💬

Whilst your horse is being loaded up in our spacious car park 🚚, we work efficiently to clean down the treadmill, ready for our next appointment 🧽 and fill out records from the session.

We are excited to announce that due to popular demand, starting on 5th February we will now be offering evening slots every Wednesday 🤩

The evening slots will be from 4pm - 8pm. So we've got you covered if you are unable to make it during the day time 😉
